The Accuracy Of Visual Field Diagnosis Is Improved Visual Field Analyzer
The purpose of visual field examination for glaucoma is twofold: to detect the presence of optic nerve damage and to monitor the progression of the disease. Visual field defect was detected to determine the presence of optic nerve damage. The diagnosis of glaucoma is not completely determined by intraocular pressure. High intraocular pressure alone without optic disc damage and corresponding visual field defect can only be diagnosed as hyperocular pressure. In contrast, in normal intraocular glaucoma, the intraocular pressure is normal, with only optic disc changes and visual field defects. Therefore, visual field defect is one of the main indicators for the diagnosis of glaucoma, so the Visual Field Analyzer is the doctor's best help, which is especially important in primary open Angle glaucoma. Clinically, patients with ocular hypertension should not be treated. Regular follow-up of fundus and visual field should be conducted. Once early optic disc damage and visual field changes occur, treatment should be given.
